44. Sydney Ferguson, 6-3 OH, North Stafford (Stafford, Virginia), VA Juniors – Penn State
Long, lean and powerful, Ferguson is a total gamer who loves to compete and lives for the pressure situation. That’s when she performs best! Her size and arm length make her a prime candidate to be not only a terminal hitter from anywhere on the court but also a strong blocker at the collegiate level. A former middle, Ferguson transitioned to the outside her freshman year and quickly developed the ability to run any tempo along the net. Her range, versatility, power and volleyball I.Q. allow her to completely take over a match offensively. In the back row, Ferguson has a great nose for the ball and can chase down what most will give up on. Her passing platform is sound and her long body allows her to take up an incredible amount of space in serve receive. Ferguson has committed to Penn State and is looking forward to being a part of the Penn State tradition. She knows it is going to take an extraordinary amount of hard work, discipline and guts to compete in the B1G Ten and for the Nittany Lions. She is up for the challenge and ready to perform her best when confronted with it.
